Here's are some programmes by Google for Students as well as Educators:

The biggest difference between iOS and Android has always been simple: Apple makes its own phones, operating system and cloud back-end, and sells essentially a single model of phone and a single model of tablet. By contrast, Google drives an open-source mobile platform, which is supported by a rich network of competing hardware makers who innovate on
Its time for Augmented Reality(AR) to shine.

When Google announced its Daydream View headset last year, it was a sign that the search giant was ready to take VR to the masses. It's dabbled in VR before with Cardboard, but the View was a much more serious effort, with its fabric-clad design and user-friendly remote. Which is why it's such a surprise that Google didn't really spend a lot of time on VR at its Pixel 2 event. The company mentioned the new Daydream View -- now in colors! -- but didn't really say much more beyond that. Instead, Google was much more excited to talk about something else: AR.

Google's much-anticipated Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL launch event is merely a day away, and we are expecting new hardware with the company's "Made by Google" tag. The event's biggest stars are likely to be the new Pixel smartphones, but apart from them, Google is also likely to launch new Chromebook - Pixelbook, mini variant of its Home smart speaker, and the next generation of Daydream VR headsets.

Highlights:

  • A Twitter user spotted Home Mini device in Home app
  • The mini speaker likely to be priced at $49
  • Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL said to be biggest stars of the event

Google changes it search algorithms over 600 times every year.

Today, blue links to websites are giving way to the Knowledge Graph (their very own colossal vault of information). It’s a much more complex territory. Google no longer thinks of itself as the middleman. Google wants to be “the answer.”

Just write "whether in your location" and see the graph what Google provide.

Google whether search
This is Google’s reaction to our ever-decreasing attention spans and growing expectancy of everything ‘instantaneous.’ Google measures success by how quickly they get the user from question to answer.
Details are light at the moment, but a bit of news out of Google’s Playtime developer event this morning: the company is launching a Google Play bug bounty program that’ll encourage researchers to poke around and look for vulnerabilities in some of Android’s most popular apps (both those built by Google and those built by third-party devs.)

Called the “Google Play Security Reward” program, the new program aims to get researchers to work directly with Android app developers to find vulnerabilities.

If you help a developer squash a bug, Google will pay you $1,000 (on top of whatever bounty the third-party dev themselves might pay).

Google is tapping HackerOne to handle much of the back end for this program, from submitting reports to inviting white-hat hackers into new parts of the program as they roll out.
Sudar Pichai - Google CEO

SUNDAR PICHAI SAYS THE FUTURE OF GOOGLE IS AI. BUT CAN HE FIX THE ALGORITHM?

I was asking in the context of the aftermath of the 2016 election and the misinformation that companies like Facebook, Twitter, and Google were found to have spread. Pichai, I found out later, had a rough idea that something was going wrong with one of his algorithms as we were speaking. So his answer, I think it's fair to say, also serves as a response to the widespread criticisms the company faced in the days after the shooting.

Google started to know much more about computer that its really think creative?

AI with musicDo all people agree on what makes creativity creativity? Depending on what kind of definition you go by, if you build software that can take a note sequence and turn it into a melody by finding patterns where do you place it on the scale of creativity?
R&D is one of numerous sites that reported on the company's plans to launch a project that will figure out some answers. The project is called Magenta and it launches June 1. Magenta's running with its burning question. Can machine intelligence produce original music, videos, images, and text?

Google Android N (7.0) developer preview released, and its features out.

Android N Mobile

Surprise for developer and Android lover that Google released developer preview of upcoming android version, code named as "N". This is the first time ever that the engineering hulk broke from its custom of releasing new versions of its popular mobile operating system Explaining the rationale behind the move, Google’s SVP for Android, Chrome OS and Chromecast, Hiroshi Lockheimer, wrote on Medium, "By releasing the first preview and asking for your feedback now (in March!), we’ll be able to act on that feedback while still being able to hand off the final N release to device makers this summer, so they can get their hands on the latest version of Android earlier than ever. Plus, you’ll be able to use this additional time to support all of the new goodies in N in your apps."

An official source said:
Google wants to test the Loon Project in expensive and scarce spectrum bands. It has been asked to partner with any telecom operator that can meet its requirement and then approach the government for testing Loon.
The official said that if Google wishes to conduct a test with BSNL, it can carry out the experiment in the spectrum held by the state-owned company.
“This approach should resolve the spectrum band sought by Google as well as security, to some extent,”the official added.

The new Fiber Phone service will be made available to a few US markets and later expanded to other cities where Google offers high-speed Internet.

The new service adds a few high-tech features to the landline, such as transcribing voice mails and delivering them as written messages, and connecting with mobile phones when consumers are away.

"While mobile phones have pushed us toward the future, home phone service is still important to many families," Google's John Shriver-Blake said in a blog post.
"Landlines can be familiar, reliable and provide high-quality service, but the technology hasn't always kept up," he said.

Google Android N internally known as New York Cheesecake and may be next version will named on Indian sweet.

Google rolled out new Android Developer version earlier than expected. Yes, we are talking about the version name for Android N and it now seems that Google’s team is referring it to as ‘New York Cheesecake’ internally.
Previously, Android KitKat was tagged as Key Lime Pie (klp) and the same goes for Lollipop (Lemon Meringue Pie) and the current Marshmallow (Macadamia Nut Cookie).

So for now, New York Cheesecake only seems like an option as Google still has an online poll running asking users to decide what the next version of Android will be called.

About a week and a half ago at the Google I/O conference, everyone was anticipating that Google would announce a Nexus-branded tablet during the show, and they did just that with the unveiling of the Nexus 7. But Google surprised a lot of folks by announcing a new Android-based media-streaming device, the Nexus Q, hot on the heels of the tablet. And while the Nexus 7 seems to offer great value for the money, the Nexus Q is a bit harder to figure out.

Google Now may soon be able to work offline: Report
google now

According to reports, Google could be working on making Google Now, it’s speech recognition-based assistant work for Android users even if they are offline.

According to a report by Gizmodo, speech recognition heavily relies on cloud computing to function optimally. It’s essential as the processing power and memory required is huge. The report reveals that in a recent paper, Google engineers have shared how they used deep machine learning techniques to run a not so heavy speech recognition program that resides on the smartphone.

Google's quest to have as many people as possible on Gmail has reached it's final logical step: you no longer need to change your email address to use the service.

In a new program, known as 'Gmailify', Google is offering users of other email platforms "the best of Gmail, without an @gmail address".

Although it has been possible for many years to use Gmail with custom domains, and to send and receive email from other providers through Google's site, Gmailify brings the more powerful features of the system including spam protection to those with Outlook, Hotmail or Yahoo addresses.

Officially, human already given their voice to machine, now machine speaks same as human or even more accurate than human.

Google AI Speech

A research paper published by Google this month—which has not been peer reviewed—details a text-to-speech system called Tacotron 2, which claims near-human accuracy at imitating audio of a person speaking from text.

The system is Google’s second official generation of the technology, which consists of two deep neural networks. The first network translates the text into a spectrogram (pdf), a visual way to represent audio frequencies over time. That spectrogram is then fed into WaveNet, a system from Alphabet’s AI research lab DeepMind, which reads the chart and generates the corresponding audio elements accordingly.

Here is the sample voice of AI and human. Its hard to find difference between which is of AI and which is of human.
