PNG and MNG tools

This is an open source project to develop tools for use in creating and manipulating PNG (Portable Network Graphics), MNG (Multiple-image Network Graphics), and JNG (JPEG Network Graphics) files.

At present, PMT tools include:

• pngcrush, which is used for optimizing the compression of PNG files.
• pngmeta, by Dave Beckett.
• bmp2png/png2bmp, by MIYASAKA Masaru.
• A Browser Gamma Test.
• Test files containing various ICC profiles.
• Test file containing iTXt chunks.
• A plan for conversion of Exif and TIFF/EP image files to and from PNG and JNG.
• We plan to work on some other MNG and JNG supporting tools, but they fall in the vaporware category right now.
